Delmer Smith challenges evidence in home invasions trial

SARASOTA COUNTY – Minutes before Delmer Smith’s trial started this morning, the defendant charged in a series of violent home invasions in 2009 spoke about what he felt was manufactured evidence by the state. A key piece of evidence in the case are sweat droplets found in the home of a woman who had been tied up on her living room floor while an intruder ransacked her home.
